For the last three years, Austin has supported innovation and industry technical change from UK Finance; particularly through the development of the open banking ecosystem, the industry roll-out of Confirmation of Payee and, more recently, consideration of how a central bank digital currency and other new forms of digital money can be implemented by the industry. Previously part of Payments UK’s Standards team; he also supports the work of the UK Finance Standards Strategy Group to improve the co-ordination of standards development within the payments industry.
