Mardi is a senior associate at City law firm Fox Williams LLP, where she specialises in payments, FinTech and other financial services regulation.

Mardi advises on a wide range of UK and EU regulatory matters including authorisation and licensing; regulation of financial markets and instruments; funds and investments; and banking and payments. She also advises clients on regulatory processes including applications for permission and regulatory change / implementation projects.

Mardi has a specific interest in payments and FinTech regulation, and has been advising clients on PSD2, Open Banking, retail payments, and the developing regulation of cryptocurrencies and related exchanges.  Mardi acts for a range of regulated and unregulated clients including banks, e-money issuers, payment service providers, AISPs and PISPs, challenger banks, merchants, payments platforms, payments gateways, social trading and investment platforms, data management apps, and other stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.

Fox Williams has dedicated teams focused on the fashion, travel, and technology industries.  Mardi works regularly with these teams to give sector specific commercial and regulatory advice to fashion retailers, travel agencies, technology providers, and other merchants (e.g. online ticket sellers). 

Mardi gave a Key Speech on Payments Regulation at the Future Banking event in Bucharest last year and recently co-authored the UK chapter of Chambers Global Practice Guide for FinTech.

Mardi graduated from the University of Oxford (Brasenose College) in 2010, with a BA in Jurisprudence with Law Studies in Europe.  Prior to joining Fox Williams, Mardi gained experience at Clifford Chance LLP, also completing client secondments at Citibank and MasterCard.
