Paul Bedford is a Senior Manager at the Bank of England. His current role involves leading the Bank of England’s contribution to the international roadmap for enhancing cross-border payments – a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make remittances and other cross-border payments cheaper, faster, more accessible and more inclusive. He is a member of several international working groups progressing the roadmap. In previous roles, Paul helped shape the regulatory framework for UK FMIs, including UK payment systems; and supervised UK CCPs’ financial risk management arrangements. He is a strong advocate for enhancing diversity and inclusion in the financial sector and has contributed extensively to emerging regulatory policy on D&I in financial firms, including FMIs.
